Ukraine Update

The Committee on Special Activities is pleased to offer a second look at Ukraine thanks to Bruce Donahue who will be spending a few days here in Naples. Deputy Chief of Mission in Kiev at the United States Embassy, Mr. Donahue gave us an overview of the Ukrainian issue while here last April. Returning now, he will focus on why Ukraine matters; what does the war in Ukraine mean for Europe; the Russian way of war; and lessons for United States Foreign Policy. Clearly this is an event you will not want to miss!

Bruce Donahue, a Senior Foreign Service Officer, arrived in Kiev on July 27, 2013 after serving from 2010-2013 as Deputy Chief of Mission in Yerevan, Armenia. Other overseas assignments have included Moscow, Seoul, and Warsaw. In Washington he has served as the Deputy Office Director in the State Department office responsible at the time for both the Caucasus and Central Asia. In addition, from 2006-2009, Mr. Donahue led the Foreign Service Institute’s Orientation Division which provides training to all new State Department Foreign Service and Civil Service employees.

Please join us on Monday, October 13th, at 10am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 625 111th Avenue No. in North Naples, in the ballroom.
