Membership Benefits

Members of the Naples Council on World Affairs receive many benefits:

  • Attend lectures by distinguished speakers with expertise in foreign affairs and diplomacy in person, via livestream, or by viewing archived videos.
  • Attend small luncheons with speakers if they donate $250 to join the President's Club.
  • Participate in Great Decisions (weekly small group discussions mid-January to mid-March). 
  • Receive invitations to additional lectures and special events, such as the biennial National War College seminar.
  • Join NCWA's Foreign Affairs Book Club.
  • Enjoy publication discounts and travel benefits with other chapters of the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA).
  • Support the Village Assistance Program (VAP), a small village infrastructure program overseas.
  • Support and/or volunteer for a strong Model United Nations competition for area high school students sponsored by NCWA in partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University.
  • Receive the free GlobalPost newsletter about global trends and issues.
  • Attend the yearend Annual Dinner in alternate years featuring an expert speaker.
  • Participate in or support a variety of School Programs supporting students and teachers in Collier and Lee Counties, including:
    -- local Academic WorldQuest competitions in middle and high schools testing students' knowledge of global
     
    affairs, 
    -- scholarships for summer study
    in international relations and diplomacy at U.S. and international universities,
    -- annual Educator of the Year Award.
