Born and raised in Connecticut, Peter spent most of his life in Connecticut before moving to Naples, FL in 2012 with his wife Suzanne. In 2024 he was named chair of the Board of Directors of United Way of Collier and the Keys after having served on the board since 2019. In 1983, he co-founded Association Resources (AR) with Suzanne. AR, an association management firm, was the headquarters for 20 international, national, and state organizations with offices in Hartford, CT , Washington, DC, and Brussels, Belgium. AR was sold in 2007 to a private equity group. One of Peter’s primary clients at AR was the International League Against Epilepsy. ILAE is a federation of 108 Chapters in six regions throughout the world. He served as chief staff officer for fifteen years. Some of Peter’s accomplishments during his tenure include overseeing an annual operating budget of approximately $4M with total assets of $14M; created and managed a second office located in Brussels; implemented programs such as chapter conventions at international and regional congresses, and developed a strategic plan for the organization. After leaving AR, Peter worked in the meetings industry for Maritz Global Events based in St. Louis MO. He identified potential conference sites for clients and once a location was identified, he negotiated the hotel contract for the meeting. Peter is currently a consultant for HillStaffer, a Washington, D.C. based advocacy and government relations firm. Peter and Suzanne have two children, Meghan and Brennan Berry, who are principals at Energy Related Properties based in Texas. |
