Stu Schweitzer is an economist, and enjoyed a long career in international financial services. He joined JPMorgan in 1975 and retired in 2014 as Vice Chairman of JPMorgan Private Bank. During his career at JP Morgan, he was responsible for the analysis of global financial markets and economies with an emphasis on asset allocation and market strategy. He served as the firm’s senior voice on the economy, investment outlook, and portfolio strategy and was a member of its Global Investment Committee. Before joining JP Morgan, he served as a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, was an assistant professor of economics at the University of Kentucky, and a Research Fellow at the Brookings Institution. He earned a Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota and a B.B.A. at the City College of New York. Stu and his wife, Harriet, divide their time between Estero and the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Stu has volunteered as a docent at the Holocaust Museum of SW Florida and Hevreh of Southern Berkshires. He has been a Great Decisions group leader since 2019 and currently is Great Decisions chair. He and Carol Green were awarded NCWA’s 2020 Volunteers of the Year award for their work training and preparing members for virtual participation in Great Decisions discussion sessions during the Covid-19 pandemic. |
