  • WGCU radio interview on March 5, 2024 with Daniela Barata Herrera, keynote speaker at 2024 Model UN, about the influence of the program on her life. She first discovered Model UN at Cape Coral 
High School, where she graduated in 2017. She was born in Cuba and emigrated with her family to Chile as a young child before moving to Cape Coral. 

Daniela holds a bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University in molecular and cellular biology and is now is in her first year of medical school at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Her experience in Model UN was helpful in launching her college career.

Bonita Springs resident Kathleen Hessert hosted Zoom session for youths enrolled in the KidsKonnectUkraine virtual pen pal program she founded. 
  • "Model UN: How they work, and how they can change lives", WGCU radio interview, March 7, 2023. Hanna Nussair, Model UN keynote speaker in 2023 and a communication and advocacy associate for a United Nations Foundation initiative to improve the quality, availability and use of gender data to make a practical difference in the lives of women and girls, talks about her career. She participated in Model UNs while she was a student at State College of Florida Collegiate School and as a student at FGCU.
  • "Connecting Dots: Naples seminar shows effects of Russia-Ukraine War on U.S., allies, communities." Dr. Mariya Omelicheva, political scientist and professor teaching national security strategies at the National War College in Washington DC, discusses NCWA War College session and her presentation on "Russia and Ukraine: The Knowns, Unknowns and Unknown Unknowns." WGCU radio interview, February 24, 2023.
