Mr. Gymer, a Cleveland native, earned a B.A. from Western Reserve University with a double major in english and history and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Beginning his career as an estate planning, probate and tax attorney for Ameritrust, a major multi-state bank holding company with offices in the Midwest and Florida, he rose to become the senior executive responsible for the company’s Wealth Management Division. He later founded and served as President of McDonald Trust Company, which, like Ameritrust, was later acquired by KeyBank. He conducted international business in London during these assignments and, after retiring, served as an expert witness and consultant. He served on the boards of Ronald McDonald House and Beechbrook home for abused children in Cleveland. He credits his Model UN participation in high school as a formative life experience. He has served NCWA as a Model UN competition judge, position paper reader, and scholarship sponsor and is also a member of the School Outreach Committee and a Great Decision discussion group. |
