Vince Obsitnik

Vince Obsitnik was born in Slovakia and grew up in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. After serving five years in the U.S. Navy where he was a Submarine Officer, he had a 30 year career with IBM with multiple responsibilities both domestic and international. With the IBM World Trade Corporation, he had manufacturing responsibilities in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. He then spent five years in Unisys where he served as President of the Systems Development Division.

From 2001 to 2006 he served on a U.S. Commission and two Presidential Delegations, one to Ukraine and one to Austria. In 2007, he was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the Slovak Republic.

Vince graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with honors. He received his MBA from The American University and attended the Unisys Executive Program at The Wharton School. He is fluent in Slovak and understands Russian. He is a marathon runner and plays tennis. He and his wife, Annemarie, have four sons and twelve grandchildren.
