Jim is Chairman of the Council for Business and the Arts in Canada and Chairman of the Minister’s Advisory Council for Arts and Culture, Ontario Government. He has a Doctorate of Business Administration from Harvard University and has taught and published extensively on business and government issues in major Canadian and international universities, including the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University; Keio University, Tokyo; INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. Jim has held several senior positions in the Government of Ontario and was Secretary to the Cabinet in 1974/75.
He is a past International President of the Young Presidents Organization. Currently, he is President of the Art Gallery of Ontario Foundation & Chair of the AGO Building Committee working with Frank Gehry. past Chairperson of Tennis Canada. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1997.
While born in Toronto, Canada, Jim and Margaret now spend winters in Naples with visits from their four children and five grandchildren. Jim is the founding Chair of the Canadian Friends of the Phil.
