Born in the United States of European heritage, Trixie spent her childhood in South Africa, and after matriculation from high school there, studied at the University of Florence, Italy and the University of Vienna, Austria. On returning to the United States, she worked briefly in New York before moving to Washington, DC., where she was employed by the U.S. Attorney General and in the private legal field for several years, followed by three years with the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Following a short stay at Exxon Corporation’s Public Affairs office, she returned to New York with her husband where they resided for 25 years. In addition to many various volunteer positions, Trixie was the founder of an international event management company based in Manhattan, which she ran for eight years. She and her husband moved to Naples in 2004. She is currently the Editor of the NCWA Newsletter.
